HAPPY HOLIDAYS Y'ALL

HERE WE ARE THE LAST MONTH OF 2022…..for me it seems like the last three months just flew by. Now that we are all approaching the year’s final curtain, let’s go over some helpful self-care rituals to stay balanced during the holiday rush + work balance.

I believe in the narrative that if your cup is not overflowing, then you have nothing to give…you can’t give from an empty place. When that occurs, we become resentful towards whatever is taking all our energy. Here are some ways to manage your time especially helpful during the busy holiday rush.:

  1. Time blocks, I recently read this is the way millionaires manage their schedules, instead of a list use specific time blocks allotted to tasks that need priority attention.

  2. You must put yourself first…YES first before children, husband, work. Your cup must be overflowing, not full but overflowing in order to have something to give to others.

  3. That may look like getting up early to meditate, or workout. This takes discipline..your future self will thank you. Nothing worse than feeling like you have no time for yourself. Carving out that “me” time is essential to not getting burn out over the holidays.

  4. Relook at all your tasks….is there anything you can put off? Have you over committed yourself? Chances are you can definitley prioritize and move things around to gain some extra “me” time.

  5. ASK for help…. we forget that we aren’t superwoman or superman. Learning to ask for assistance is normal. When did we learn to have to do everything.?

  6. If its your turn to bake something it’s not crime to go buy a bakery item. We are human, more importantly I feel like we judge ourselves so harshly, trust me no one is as bad as your own thoughts feeding you.

  7. Be consciously aware of what you are thinking. This is taking control of how your day goes. If you start off negatively dreading the day, the day will be dreadful. Instead remind yourself that when you get a negative thought say “CANCEL” it will be easy once you start noticing and the biggest gift of being aware of our thoughts is the vibration or frequency of your body.

  8. Listening to quided meditation, for those who don’t meditate or say they can’t, check out you tube for 10 minute guided meditations, you can listen to them anywhere….it will calm your soul, once a day make that part of your ritual.

One ritual for me that I can share is first thing in the morning, I begin with a meditation and gratitude journal. It instantly changes my energy to a higher frequency. I cherish that time before I even have my coffee….it’s a way to connect to my higher self, There are days that even before I get out of bed I say an affirmation that today will be a great day with everything going my way. Remember our thoughts and words create our environment, words are like WANDS use them carefully.
